The Royal Community send condolences to Belgium

The "heartfelt thoughts" of the Belgian King and his wife are with today's victims of the attacks in Brussels which left at least 30 dead and hundreds injured on Tuesday 22 March. In a statement, Mathilde and Philippe expressed "shocked" by these "heinous and cowardly acts" that occurred in Brussels National Airport and the subway in the Belgian capital.

"The King and Queen are upset by the events at the Brussels National Airport and the Brussels metro. These acts are heinous and cowardly. The heartfelt thoughts of the King and Queen go first to the victims and their families and to the emergency services who make every effort to provide assistance to victims, "said the statement, posted on the official website of the Belgian Crown.

The city of Brussels was hit by several attacks, Tuesday, March 22, which killed at least 34 people dead and over 180 wounded, according to a provisional toll unfortunately.

A first attack - at least two explosions and possibly gunshots - occurred around 8:00 in the departure hall of Brussels National Airport. The provisional toll is 14 dead and 81 wounded.

Secondly, at 9:11, two explosions occurred in a subway train at the station Maelbeek, located rue de la Loi, in the heart of the Belgian capital. The provisional toll is 20 dead and 106 wounded.

These attacks occured two days after the capture of Salah Abdeslam in Brussels, the prime suspect on the run of the attacks of 13 November in Paris, were claimed by the jihadist group called "Islamic State".
His Majesty address the Nation on all Belgian Networks in both Flemish, Dutch and French

Many monarchs around the world immediately expressed their support to King Philip of Belgium and the Belgian Community.
Netherlands: "This morning our neighbor Belgium was hit by violent attacks in which innocent people were killed. King Philip I sent my condolences. The Netherlands live intensely [these events] with those affected and with the people of Brussels who today live in uncertainty and fear. Europe is once again put to the test. What is needed now is that we show our strength and defend the values of freedom and solidarity, "wrote King Willem-Alexandre in a statement on the official website of the Royal House, KoninklijkHuis.nl, and on Facebook .
The Royal Palace tonight and tomorrow night will be lit solidarity in the colors of the Belgian flag

Sweden: It is in his name and on behalf of his family and country that King Carl XVI Gustaf said he was "appalled" and "horrified". The King of Sweden said that their thoughts were "victims and families of the victims" of attacks in Brussels on Tuesday 22 March.
"My family are shocked and horrified to learn the news of the terrible events that took place in Brussels. In these difficult times, we are all united against this ruthless terrorism, our thoughts are with the victims and their families," said King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, according to a statement posted on the official website of the Crown, KungaHuset.se and on its Facebook page.
































Denmark: "The royal couple has today sent condolence to the Belgian royal couple, in which they express their condolences on the occasion of today's tragic events in Brussels, Belgium."

Jordan: Both Their Majesties sent their condolences


Qatar:  H.H the Emir  Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani condoling the victims of the bombings which occurred  in the capital Brussels yesterday.
He expressed strong  condemnation of such despicable acts of terrorism, which represent a violation of all religions, moral values and human principles. The Emir reiterated Qatar’s rejection of violence and terrorism in all their forms and manifestations, whatever their motives and causes.
The Emir also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the king of Belgium and to the families of the victims and the Belgian people, and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, Crown Prince and the Deputy Emir  has also sent a cable of condolences to King Philippe of Belgium. The Deputy Emir expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Belgium king  and to the families of the victims and the Belgian people , and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
