The Jordanian Royal Courts: Congrats to HRH Princess Muna on the new appointment

Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al Hussein has been appointed as a Commissioner in the High-Level Commission on Health Employment and Economic Growth.
HRH Princess Muna has been named to take part in this important Commission, which is co-chaired by France President Francois Hollande and South African President Jacob Zuma, based on her capacity as a world-renowned figure in the fields of global health and social development. She is also a well-known advocate of programs that support the Sustainable Development Goals, with an emphasis on alleviating poverty, promoting maternal and child health and strengthening the healthcare workforce.
As a World Health Organisation (WHO) Patron for Nursing and Midwifery in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, Vice President of the Royal College of Nursing of the United Kingdom and an Honorary Adviser for WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing Development in Jordan, as well as a recipient of several honorary doctoral degrees and fellowships and a number of international awards, HRH Princess Muna has addressed several health for a on the importance of empowering the health workforce globally.
Back in Jordan where her son King Abdullah II is the monarch, she helped found the Princess Muna College of Nursing in 1962 and is the founder of the Jordanian Nursing Council, which was established in 2002, as part of her early commitments to the provision of quality nursing and the advancement of nursing services, practice and education.

Princess Muna al-Hussein (born Antoinette Avril Gardiner;on 25 April 1941) is the mother of King Abdullah II of Jordan. She was the second wife of the late King Hussein, the late king of Jordan. She is English by birth but in keeping with Islamic culture, she was renamed Muna al-Hussein upon her marriage. She met her ex-husband on the set of a movie of Lawrence of Arabia where she was working as secretarial assistant. Together they had four children: Abdullah (born 1962; now King Abdullah II of Jordan); Feisal (born 1963) and twins Princess Aisha and Princess Zein (born 1968).
