The Dutch Royal Courts: A busy day with their Majesties

Today Queen Máxima opened the Outsider Art Museum in the Hermitage, Amsterdam. The museum displays works of hundreds of leading national and international Outsider artists. The artists have artistic training and operating outside the professional art circuit. Some of them have an intellectual disability or mental illness.
The Outsider Art Museum is the result of collaboration between the Museum Dolhuys, museum of the mind from Haarlem, care organization Cordaan and the Hermitage Amsterdam. The museum displays works by English, French, Iranian, Japanese and Dutch artists and provides an overview of the current developments of Outsider Art.


























It was at a nursing home endertshof in Fijnaart where King Willem-Alexander was speaking about homecare in this city and region. Central to the project 'Wijk Sister back, "which makes home care more accessible and more accessible. The district nurse - West Brabant deliberately chooses these "old fashioned" but familiar term - provides a great need. Not any care indication is leading, but the real question. Only when it is really needed, the district nurse organizes professional help from other workers. She works together with a team of health care providers of various levels, support is available in the entire chain of housing, welfare, health care and labor.
