The Dutch Royal Courts: State Dinner at the Elysee
15:33:00
The first day of their state visit to France was completed for the Dutch Sovereign couple King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands by a banquet at the Elysee Palace in Paris by the President of the French Republic François Hollande.
The dress code theme was on simplicity. No evening dress, or tiara for Maxima. She was wearing a short dress as the Queen of the Netherlands is dinner coming this Thursday, March 10th at the Elysee Palace with her royal husband Willem-Alexander. But the young woman of 44 years, known for her elegance, had chosen a golden dress from NATAN AW Collection 2015 and Jimmy Choo golden heels.
Sitting at table in the Village hall of the Elysee between François Hollande and the new French foreign minister Jean-Marc Ayrault, Queen Maxima, like King Willem-Alexander and the rest of the audience, raised her glass champagne at the Franco-Dutch fraternity after speeches that preceded the meal. Speaking after President Hollande, the King of the Netherlands gave his in French.
Earlier in the day, the Dutch royal couple, who arrived the night before at Villacoublay airport, had chained the appointment. After going down the Champs Elysees, escorted by the cavalry of the Republican Guard, and laid a wreath on the tomb of the unknown soldier, the King and Queen of the Netherlands joined the presidential palace for a meeting with François Hollande. This was then accompanied them to the Louvre, where were unveiled two signed portraits of Rembrandt and acquired jointly by France and the Netherlands. After passing through the National Assembly and the Senate, Maxima and Willem-Alexander met in the district of La Chapelle footballer Lilian Thuram, who presented his foundation against racism, as well as fifteen young French who followed educational workshops offered by the Anne Frank Foundation. The opportunity to discuss the main themes dear to both countries: freedom, equality, diversity.
