Au lendemain de son Jubilé Saphir à Sandringham, la Reine Elizabeth II est de retour à Londres.
Après une longue pause hivernale au château de Sandringham. Après avoir célébré son 65e anniversaire, son accession au trône britannique et la mort de son père, le roi George VI, la reine Elizabeth II est de retour dans la capitale. Après sept semaines dans son domaine familial à Norfolk, la grand-mère royale a pris le train à 10h54 ce mardi 7 février 2017 à la station King's Lynn, pour un trajet de 90 minutes à King's Cross Station à Londres.
Arrivée quelques minutes avant le départ, la souveraine de 90 ans n'était pas accompagnée de son mari, le prince Philip. Pour voyager, elle avait choisi de porter un manteau vert, sur une robe du même ton. Elle avait protégé ses cheveux dans un foulard attaché. L'écharpe était en blanc, décorée de motifs évoquant le fond marin, entre poissons exotiques, coraux et plantes colorées. Mais dès qu'elle fut assise dans le wagon, elle la retira.
