For their last day of their stay in Malta, Queen Elizabeth II, accompanied by Prince Philip, boarded a Dghajsa at the Grand Harbour of Valletta, guided by the memory of her late father.

 With her husband the Duke of Edinburgh, the 89 years old sovereign all dressed in turquoise and headed in the gardens of the presidential palace San Anton to plant a cypress, attended horse race at the racetrack visited the Malta Heritage Centre and conservation laboratories. The Queen also reviewed the guard with the Maltese president Marie Louise Coleiro Preca and boarded a Dghajsa, a traditional Maltese fishing boat. This water ride in the Grand harbor waters, during which she cruised the amphibious assault ship HMS Bulwark and his crew at attention you on deck, was guided by its desire to arrive by water to the point where her father, King George VI, had landed June 20, 1943, as recalled by a recently restored plate.
