It is on very rare occasion do we see Her Majesty riding in a metro car/train but on Thursday, Queen Elizabeth II was photographed aboard a tram/metro car, and even sitting in the driver seat.

Traveling aboard the royal train, Elizabeth II visited this November 19 in Birmingham with her husband Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh. Queen of Great Britain and Northern Ireland United Kingdom was expected in the city of West Midlands in central England for two inaugurations. No need for large displacement to reach the scene of the first meeting since it was the "New Street Station" where she appeared in a fuchsia pink coat and matching hat. She unveiled a plaque recalling the complete renovation of the station, an investment of 750 million pounds (1 billion euros).

The royal couple also filed a poppy wreath flower -the symbol of the British for their fallen veterans on the monument dedicated to the fallen during the First  World War railway.

The second visit of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh led them to the new Dental Hospital and dental surgery faculty in Edgbaston. They toured the facilities, met with management, members of the clinical team, teaching staff and students, and there too the Queen unveiled a plaque to mark the opening of the facility, before they eat breakfast on site.

But between these two openings, the grandmother of 8 also climb aboard a brand new metro car. She officially christened the train which will circulate shortly on the extension of the metro car line of the city, the "Midland Metro" which links Birmingham to Wolverhampton. The sovereign did so not content to remain in the passenger area, sitting in the driver's seat.
