Queen Elizabeth II is traveling. Accompanied by her husband Prince Philip, and her son Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, the Sovereign is in Malta for the opening of the 24th Meeting of Commonwealth Heads of Government
Even though Her Majesty Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has significantly reduced her travel abroad because of her age nevertheless she took part in this year Commonwealth Nations Head of States General Meeting. This Nov. 26, she headed to the island of Malta.
Welcomed at the airport by the Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat with her husband the Duke of Edinburgh, Elizabeth II, wearing a blue and white tweed coat -the same fabric as her hat- worn over a  two tones coordinated floral dress then joined the San Anton Palace. There, she participated with the President of the Republic of Malta, Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, in the traditional welcoming ceremony. The latter was reserved for Elizabeth and Philip several gifts, including a small painting of the house where they lived in 1950, early in their marriage while the Monarch was not queen, she had in fact lived on the island at that time still a British colony, with Prince Philip who was stationed on several occasions between 1949 and 1951 as an officer in the Royal Navy.

In the evening, the royal couple was joined by their eldest son Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, to a reception at San Anton Palace. The Queen had changed coat, displaying herself in ultramarine blue, while her daughter wore a green bottle lace dress and a short jacket noire.Rien to do with as much romantic nostalgic pilgrimage to the lands where it was bride. If the great-grandmother of the little prince George and Baby Charlotte decided to come to Malta at the end of November, it is for political reasons. Queen Elizabeth II is involved in this effect on November 27 at a summit until Sunday the heads of state of 53 States members of the Commonwealth she heads symbolically.
