The British Royal Courts: Prince Charles first Royal Patron for the National Gallery

Ahead of its official opening, Prince Charles was able to be deliver on Monday a very private tour of the exhibition "Delacroix and the Rise of Modern Art" presented by the National Gallery. The opportunity to learn that the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II has a new role in this prestigious museum.

Being a prince reserve some privileges like one can discover in preview exposure as has been the case this February 15th for the Prince of Wales. While the vast retrospective of Eugène Delacroix in the National Gallery in London opens its doors on Wednesday, February 17. The few pictures immortalizing this very private visit show how Charles, who himself wields the brush, seemed interested in the work of this major artist of French painting of the nineteenth century and how this champion of romanticism influenced subsequent generations . Such is indeed the purpose of this exhibition jointly organized by the National Gallery and the Minneapolis Institute of Art called "Delacroix and the Rise of Modern Art" ( "Delacroix and the rise of modern art").

Referring visit, supporting photographs, the official Twitter account of Clarence House - the official residence of the Prince of Wales and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla- took the opportunity to make an announcement. The heir to the British Throne has been named Royal Patron of the National Gallery and it is the first royal patronage for this institution.
