King Willem-Alexander and Prime Minister Mark Rutte yesterday also commemorated Victory over Japan by attending a memorial service in the Hague

They both lay a wreath for the victims of the Japanese occupation and the King opens the parade.
They also speak afterwards with representatives of the Indian community in the Netherlands.

The Foundation Commemoration 15 August 1945 organizes this memorial for all civilian and military casualties from the former Dutch East Indies, which was occupied by Japan during World War II.
