Wearing a blue coat and marsala, pointed to the size of a large blue suede belt like his wallet, and wearing a small hat that color, The Queen arrived with her royal husband King Philippe in Cathedral of St. Rumbold in Mechelen to the applause of parishioners who came in numbers to welcome their new Archbishop. According to local press, were also present several Belgian politicians, and representatives of other religions in Belgium.

In the Gothic building, Mathilde and Philippe of Belgium took place side by side in the front row to attend the Eucharist during which the Catholic Bishop Jozef De Kesel officially took office at the head of the archdiocese of Malines-Brussels. Located in the center of Belgium, the archdiocese covers several provinces: Walloon Brabant, Flemish Brabant, a small part of Antwerp and the Brussels-Capital Region.
