Swedish Royal Couple Their Majesty King Gustaf and Queen Silvia are on a 3 day state visit from October7-10 to Lithuania, the second in 23 years. You can read more about their preparation here.
They were welcome by President Dalia Grybauskaite as they arrive at the presidential palace in Vilnius, Lithuania

The theme of the visit is "The Baltic Sea unites us" and the aim is to recognize and further strengthen the Swedish-Lithuanian relations both politically, culturally and economically.

Then the King and Queen visited Antakalnis Cemetery to honor the victims of the struggle for independence in the early 1990s. The King laid a wreath at the monument, a Pieta sculpture of a grieving Mary was erected in 1995.
