The Swedish Royal Courts: Queen Silvia and Princess Sofia attends a meeting with child rights organizations

Monday, March 21st Her Majesty Queen Sofia and soon to mother Princess Sofia attended a meeting at the Royal Palace together with child rights organizations in Sweden to discuss efforts to help newly arrived immigrants children and young people.
The queen was the Chairperson of the meeting, welcomed everyone to the Royal Palace to discuss cooperation. Invited representatives were from: The Ombudsman for Children, BRIS, Care about the children, ECPAT, Mentor Sweden, Plan International Sweden, Save the Children, Scouts, SOS Children's Villages, UNICEF and the World Childhood Foundation.


Initially presented the Ombudsman and the organizations that work done today with a focus on Sweden. Together they work with information dissemination, training and activities for children, parents, professionals and agencies.

This was followed by a workshop where the participants in groups discussed what is being done today and what needs to be developed. In a summary of the talks showed that there is a clear desire for collaboration between organizations, governments and civil society. The experience and knowledge needs to be shared and how important it is to listen to the children.

After the meeting Princess Sofia visited the Riddarholm Church and the Treasury together with the department of public activities. The Princess is standing right next to Karl XII's grave in the Riddarholm Church.

The Swedish Royal Courts:  Diplomatic reception at the Royal Palace

Thursday February 25th His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf and Her Majesty Queen Silvia hosted a diplomatic reception at the Royal Palace for newly appointed Foreign Ambassadors to the Kingdom.

On a few occasions per year the newly appointed ambassadors have the opportunity respectively to meet the King and Queen at the Royal Palace.

The first time the newly appointed ambassadors meets with the King is when they present their credentials at the formal audiences. At the diplomatic reception they may also be a chance to meet the Queen, as well as other representatives from the Swedish Foreign Ministry.

This time it was the ambassadors from Ukraine, South Africa and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Swedish Royal Courts: New Postal Stamps

Sweden Postal Services PostNord release new postal stamps to celebrate various events in the Kingdom and the Royal Family being King Carl XVI Gustaf's 70th birthday and  Queen Silvia 40th anniversary as queen. In the mini sheet, released March 17, also draws attention to the two heirs to the throne Crown Princess Victoria and her daughter Princess Estelle.

The stamps were designed by Daniel Bjugård photographs by Anna-Lena Ahlström. The stamps are purchased in miniark with three stamps. The denomination is domestic letter.

The Swedish Royal Courts: Queen Silvia, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia at the meeting of Royal Academy of Fine Arts

Molded in an elegant red dress, Princess Sofia  pregnant with their first child, gracefully showed off mother-baby bump on Saturday, alongside her husband, Prince Carl Philip and her mother in law Queen Silvia.

While her husband King Carl XVI Gustaf was on an official three-day trip to Japan, Queen Silvia together with her son and daughter in law visited on February 19th at a meeting of the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm.

For the occasion, the beautiful Sofia opted for a scarlet shift dress with long sleeves, the embroidered flower corsage. It showed off her belly increasingly rebounded promise of the imminent birth of their first child. Her hair falling over her shoulders, the young woman of 31 years was accompanied by a red bag and MORRIS Ophelia Faux Fur Jacket, YSL Paris Patent Leather Pump.

Silvia had chosen to wear it on a brown scarf dress illuminated by multicolored geometric patterns.

The Swedish Royal Courts: Crown Princess visited the Bernadotte Library

Crown Princess Victoria visited the Bernadotte Library at the Royal Palace to take part of the ongoing work on the collections.

Bernadotte Library's collections include around 100,000 books and 500,000 photographs that belonged to the Bernadotte dynasty. There are also large collections of sheet music and maps.
Important notices: This years Crown Princess Victoria's Name Day which is celebrated annually on March 12 will be postponed this is due to the fact that she is due to give birth in the next couple of weeks.

The Swedish Royal Courts: Queen Silvia and Princess Madeline attend a meeting with the World Childhood Foundation

Thursday, February 18th Her Majesty Queen Silvia and Princess Madeleine attended  a meeting with the International Council of World Childhood Foundation, at the Royal Palace.
Collaboration Meetings of the World Childhood Foundation's International Council held a few times a year. Representatives from Childhood's four sister foundations located in Sweden, Brazil, the USA and Germany to exchange experiences and discuss which issues are common.

The Council consists of the Queen, Princess Madeleine, Childhood General Secretary Paula Guillet de Monthoux, Chairman of the foundations as well as additional Board member from each foundation. International Council was formed in 2013.
It was announced that Princess Madeleine because of two new royal duties with the World Childhood Foundation will be in Sweden. She will remain in Sweden and would be joined by her children Princess Leonore(who will celebrate her second birthday on Saturday) and Prince Nicolas to await the arrival of her elder sister Crown Princess Victoria second child

The Swedish Royal Courts: Queen Silvia mobilisies with Sick children

As patron of the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation, Queen Silvia of Sweden had naturally taken part on Monday on the events organised for International Day against childhood cancer.

The Queen visited on February 15, the offices of the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation in Stockholm. Dressed in a black skirt and a white and black jacket, a red scarf, Queen Silvia delivered there a speech in which she said that every day in the world's cancer was diagnosed in 700 children. And remember all those who in various countries, are suffering from such a disease without anyone knowing.

Also, the grandmother of 3 and soon 2 more did she welcomed the campaign "We are one." Launched on 11 January by the International Organization Childhood Cancer to raise awareness of childhood cancer, it has mobilized some 900 000 children across the globe, including small Swedish music school that surrounded that day -the. Its principle: Christophe Beck, composer tubes of Disney film "The Snow Queen," wrote a song and this one was interpreted by small singers, some famous for their appearances in TV shows like "America's Got talent, "" The Voice Kids Australia "or" Britain's Got talent. " Their videos were posted on YouTube, while all the children and adolescents of the world were invited to sing the chorus and record their performance on the site Child4child.com. The video for the song, which the refrain with all recorded voice, was just released this February 15 on the site of Childhood Cancer International, on the occasion of the International Day of childhood cancer.
