La reine Rania en mode creatrice de keffiyeh

Les techniques traditionnelles de finition à la main du foulard jordanien, la version rouge et blanche du keffiyeh, sont perpétuées par leurs mains expertes dans le cadre du projet Hadab, une quarantaine de femmes répètent les gestes ancestraux transmis de mère à fille, façonnant l'ourlet blanc de Ces morceaux de tissu qui sont pliés en deux, dans un châle sur leurs épaules. Une tâche qui nécessite plusieurs jours de travail à chaque fois.

En visitant cette région le lundi 6 février 2017, capitale de la province de Balqa, la reine Rania de Jordanie n'a pas manqué de consacrer du temps à ces couturières exceptionnelles. Sa Majesté assis parmi eux et même participé à l'ourlage d'un shemagh.

La réunion faisait partie d'un voyage à Al-Salt sur le thème de l'autonomisation des communautés en relation avec le développement touristique du patrimoine jordanien et de sa culture. Plusieurs autres rencontres étaient prévues pour la mère de quatre, qui avait choisi de s'habiller pour l'occasion en tenue traditionnelle.

Le Palais a souligné à la fin de la journée que la reine Rania a dit aux femmes qu'elle a rencontré et les fondateurs des initiatives, elle a été présentée qu'elle était "fière de leurs efforts pour préserver la culture jordanienne tout en aidant les femmes à contribuer à ce processus en travaillant de maison ". Elle a ajouté que «des initiatives comme celles-ci renforcent le rôle des femmes dans la société et leur permettent de soutenir leur famille».

Queen Rania visited the ladies of Shemagh

The traditional hand finishing techniques of the Jordanian scarf, the red and white version of the keffiyeh, are perpetuated by their expert hands as part of the Hadab project, some forty women repeat the ancestral gestures transmitted from mother to daughter, shaping the white hem of these pieces of cloth which are folded in two, in a shawl on their shoulders. A task that requires several days of work each time.

Visiting this area on Monday, February 6th 2017, capital of Balqa province, Queen Rania of Jordan did not fail to devote time to these outstanding seamstresses. Her Majesty sat amongst them and even participated in hemming of a shemagh.

The meeting was part of a trip to Al-Salt on the theme of the empowerment of communities in relation to the tourism development of the Jordanian heritage and its culture. Several other meetings were schedule for the mother of four , who had chosen to dress for the occasion in a traditional outfit.

The Palace pointed out at the end of the day that Queen Rania told the women she met and the founders of the initiatives she was presented that she was "proud of their efforts to preserve Jordanian culture while Helping women to contribute to this process by working from home ". She added that "initiatives such as these strengthen the role of women in society and enable them to support their families."

Visiting of Historical sites

Like the day before, the program of their third day in Germany was punctuated with historical visit. The King and Queen of the Netherlands thus visited the church of the Wittenberg Castle in the afternoon, on the portal of which Luther displayed on October 31th, 1517, his 95 theses which would trigger the Protestant Reformation in Germany. The building also houses his tomb, as well as that of Phillip Melanchthon, one of his closest disciples. The city of Saxony-Anhalt, known in German as Lutherstadt Wittenberg (Wittenberg city of Luther), has several monuments inscribed by UNESCO as World Heritage of Humanity in 1996 for their outstanding universal importance as places Authentic of the Reformation.

In the morning, it was a closer past that interested the Dutch royal couple. They went to Leipzig on the premises of a Plattenbau, a large group of concrete dwelling buildings typical of East German architecture from the second half of the 20th century. The opportunity to evoke the former GDR and the difficult period after reunification.


The planning of Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands also included the discovery of the European Energy Exchange (EEX - the largest market for energy goods) and an accelerator in Leipzig Startups mixing young entrepreneurs and cultural institutions. As on Wednesday, the mother of the three wore two different outfits: an aquamarine-colored silk dress with bell sleeves and suede clutch from fashion house Natan and a well-known beige pillbox, and JAN TAMINIAU T strap heels in the Day, a gray VALENTINO Jumpsuit, SERGIO ROSSI snake skin clutch and a diamond necklace from the royal vault, in the evening.
