Des grands marin Sindbad à Marco Polo, passant par Vasco de Gama, rien n'a échappé au regard attentif et passionnant de SAS le Prince Albert II de Monaco qui est un grand combattant pour la protection de la mer et des océans est un des grands engagements et qu'il défend depuis longtemps, Notamment par sa fondation, ont visité l'exposition «Les aventuriers de la mer» à l'Institut du monde arabe, le mardi 17 janvier.

Bravant le côté effrayant et fascinant de l'océan, le Prince plongea dans les aventures maritimes des grands navigateurs arabes et européens.

L'aventure commence dès qu'il arrive au parvis de l'IMA où se dresse majestueusement un bateau de 31 mètres de long. Spécialement exposée pour l'occasion, cette réplique, nommée Nizwa, venant directement du Finistère, plonge le Prince directement dans la magie qui l'attend pour le reste de la visite. Une fois que le froid glacial est bravé, en compagnie de Jack Lang, c'est à l'intérieur que le récit du voyage se poursuit, de la Méditerranée à l'Océan Indien.

Sous un ciel étoilé, apparurent les premières planisphères, laissant au prince Albert un souvenir amusé, si différente était la conception du monde des géographes de l'époque. Au fur et à mesure que les continents émergent, révélant les premiers circuits commerciaux et leurs biens. Des simples épices aux plus beaux objets d'argent, à l'évolution des cultures et des croyances, c'est une véritable épopée qui nous est présentée, sur les traces des plus grands aventuriers.
