Spanish Sports Gala with Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia and Former King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia

Glances were exchanged and a few times we saw them whispering confidences in her ear. Side by side, queen Letizia of Spain and her mother in law the former queen Sofia did not hide their complicity this Monday January 23rd 2017 in Madrid as they presented on Monday the National Sport Awards 2017. In the company of their respective spouses King Felipe VI and his father the former Spanish sovereign Juan Carlos, the two women participated in the palace of the Pardo at the delivery of the "Premios Nacionales del Deporte 2015". Awarded by the Higher Sports Council, these awards recognize individuals or entities who make an exceptional contribution to the promotion or dissemination of Spanish sport.

Dressed in a tweed dress which features cropped sleeves and a nipped waist, on her feet were a bespoke version of the Magrit 'Laura' pumps paired with her TOUS ruby, emerald and moonstone earrings, while Sofia appeared in a cherry red tailor, Letizia was entrusted with the task of awarding the prize named after her, the "Premio Reina Letizia". Sacrifying the Spanish athlete who distinguished himself most during the year in his sporting performance, both nationally and internationally, was Ruth Beitia. This European champion in high jump was in 2015 the first athlete of Spain to win the Diamond League, trophy awarded to the winners of the general classification in his discipline. And it did not stop at the moment since the young woman of 37 returned with a gold medal of the last Olympic Games disputed at Rio de Janeiro 2016.

Another member of the Spanish royal family was present at this ceremony. The 80-year-old Princess Pilar de Bourbon, the elder sister of Juan Carlos, was photographed in the audience.

The Spanish Royal Courts: Easter Sunday in Mallorca

As every year, the King Felipe VI of Spain and his wife Queen Letizia attended with the family, the Easter Mass on Sunday March 27th, during their holidays in Marivent Palace in Mallorca.
The royal couple was accompanied by their two daughters Crown Princess Leonor, Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofia, but also former Queen Sofia - without her husband's former King Juan Carlos. The ceremony took place in the cathedral of Palma de Mallorca. Expected before the building by more than 500 people, the royal family was applauded and cheered with cries of "¡Viva el Rey!". Unlike the British royal family, where sophistication is required, the Spanish royal family has relied - as every year - on simplicity.
While the King Felipe VI wore an blue elegant suit with a blue very royal, his wife Queen Letizia opted for a  'Pootsie' trousers from French high-street label, Sandro, new v-neck HUGO BOSS Stripe Wool Sweater, pink strawberry open front coat made ​​of wool by Carolina Herrera which she premiered last month at ARCO, along with the Adolfo Dominguez pink fold-over clutch. She paired them with blue suede Uterque pumps with gold block heel and gold filigree hoop earrings. His stepmother Queen Sofia, for its part, has bet for a spring style with a mantle with floral motifs. 10 year old Crown Princess Leonor wore a pink tweed jacket suit from Galician designer Pili Carrera and costs 84.21 euros, shirt from Nanos and is priced at 69.90 € and the Infanta Sofia wore bluish gray   jeans with pink stitching  of the firm Nanos (69.90 €), selling the same who wore flat shoes, which cost € 69.90 also .
