Luxembourg New Year Receptions

On Tuesday, January 10th, Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess, the Hereditary Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess on the occasion of the New Year have successively received an audience for the New Years reception at the Grand Ducal Palace. President of the Chamber of Deputies, Mr Mars di Bartolomeo and the Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, followed by Prime Minister and Minister of State Xavier Bettel and members of the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The following day, Their Royal Highnesses continued successfully receiving in audience at the Grand Ducal Palace, the President and members of the Bureau of the Council of State , The representatives of the National Authorities followed by the members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to Luxembourg, the representatives of the European Institutions, as well as the members of the Grand Ducal House.

The Luxembourger Ducal Courts: The Ducal Family at the Vatican

His Royal Highness Grand Duke Henri and his wife Her Royal Highness Grand Duchess Maria Teresa were this Monday, March 21st at the Vatican for an official visit. They were accompanied by the children(4 boys and 1 girl):Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, Prince Félix,  Prince Louis, Princess Alexandra and Prince Sébastien, their daughter in laws:  Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie, Princess Claire(who turns 31 today), Princess Tessy and 3 grand children: Princess Amalia, Prince Gabriel, Prince Noah.

While at the Holy See, the Luxembourger Ducal Family were received by His Holiness Pope Francis for a private audience at Apostolic Palace. After the hearing the Grand Ducal family was able to visit St. Peter's Basilica through the "Porta Santa", open to the Jubilee of Mercy.
The Grand Duchess was dressed in a white ensemble, as it authorizes "white privilege" (in Italian, "privilegio del bianco") - a prerogative reserved to a handful of queens, princesses and duchesses Catholics, allowing at the hearings with the pope, wearing white robes and mantillas, usually reserved for the pope.

The Luxembourger Ducal Courts: The Grand Ducal Family attends a musical

The lovely Former Grand Duke of Luxembourg who recently celebrated his 95th birthday Grand Duke Jean accompanied by his son the current Grand Duke Henri, his wife Grand Duchess Marie Teresa, grand son Hereditary Grand Duke Prince Guillaume and his wife Hereditary Grand Duchess, Princess Stephanie attended a special musical concert at Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg. They listened to the performance of musicians Xiaoming Wang, Sebastian Bohren, Lech Antonio Uszynski and Maya Weber.

The Luxembourg Ducal Courts: Hereditary Grand Duke at the Aide à l'Enfance de l'Inde bazaar

HRH Hereditary Grand Duke Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg was a guest at this year 37th Aide à l'Enfance de l'Inde bazaar which took place in Sandweiler today.

Bazaar showcased Craftsmanship and spices from India and Nepal. The proceeds of the bazaar in 2016 is intended for the construction and rehabilitation in Nepal.

The Luxembourg Royal Courts: The Grand Ducale Family supports learning disabilities

The Luxembourgian Grand Ducal Family was out on January 30th to support and attend the Grand Duchy's first International forum on learning disorders, launched by H.R.H Grand Duchess Maria-Teresa which, among other which focuses on ways to integrate students/children with learning disorders into the mainstream educational system. The topic is close to the family’s heart as Prince Louis was diagnosed with dyslexia at the young age of ten. and spoke about his experiences during the forum.

He was supported at the event by his parents Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie, his wife Princess Tessy as well as Prince Sébastien. Also present for the event was Princess Margaretha(sister to the Grand Duke) and also patron of Dyslexia International for many years. The forum was also attended, among others, by Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan of Jordan, (daughter of the former crown prince), and Formula 1 world champion Sir Jackie Stewart.

The Luxembourg Grand Ducal Court: The Hereditary Grand Couple visit Diekirch Museum

On January 21st, the Hereditary Grand Ducal couple, Their Royal Highnesses Hereditary Grand Duke, Prince Guillame and Hereditary Grand Duchess Princess Stephanie of Luxembourg visited National Museum of Military History (Musee national D'Historie Militaire) in the city of Diekirch, Luxembourg.

The Luxembourg Grand Ducal Courts: A New Year Reception with government officials

The Grand Ducal and Hereditary Grand Ducal Couples hosted on January 12, at the Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg, a New Year's reception for members of the government. On the occasion of new year, the Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria-Theresa were accompanied by Hereditary Grand Duke Prince Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Princess Stephanie as they received guests on an official audience at the Grand Ducal Palace. During the first audience, the President of the Chambre des Députés(Deputy Chambers or Senate) and the Bureau of the Chambre des Députés were received. During the second audience, one hour later, Prime Minister (and Minister of State) Xavier Bettel and other members of the Government were received.

The Luxembourg Ducal Courts: The Grand Duchy Couple pays respect to the Paris events

On Monday, Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess together with Prime Minister, Minister of State, Xavier Bettel and members of the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, laid a wreath in front of the Embassy of France in Luxembourg and participated in the minute of silence dedicated to victims of the November 13, 2015 attacks in Paris.

While at the forecourt of the Grand Ducal Palace, Their Royal Highnesses the Hereditary Grand Duke Prince Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Princess Stephanie accompanied members the Grand Ducal Court of staff respected the minute of silence dedicated to victims of the attacks of Paris.

The Royal Court Wedding Anniversary: Prince Guillaume and Princess Stephanie of Luxembourg Wedding

Earlier this week (Monday October 19&October 20th) The Hereditary Grand Ducal Couple Prince Guillaume and Princess Stephanie of Luxembourg celebrated their third wedding anniversary.


On October 19 and 20th 2012, Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg married his fiancée Countess Stephanie de Lannoy, a young and pretty young woman from the Belgian aristocracy.

An autumn wedding. On Friday, October 19th, the lovers united under the law at the City Hall of Luxembourg, in the presence of their families. The next day, under the eyes of representatives of all European Monarchies, the couple said "yes" in the Notre-Dame Cathedral, Luxembourg.

We wish the Grand Ducal Couple a happy anniversary
