The Spanish Monarques begin their 2017 agenda in smiles with the Passover Military event

Every January 6th, the traditional Passover military was held at the Madrid's Royal Palace which marks the beginning of the military calendar year. After a military ceremony in the main courtyard, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia presided over a reception in which the sovereign delivered his first speech of the year. With this act, the institutional agenda for 2017 of Their Majesties was inaugurated. Next week, they will resume with normality the rest of their official activities. As usual, all eyes were on Letizia.

For this event, It is customary for royal women to wear a full length dress to the Pascua Militar ceremony, the Queen regained a style that has already been worn several times and had debuted on her first Pascua Militar as Queen. She opted to wear her Felipe Varela teal green long sleeve gown. The gown  features embroidery down the sides and a beaded tonal belt at the waist includes has a scoop neckline and it is fabricated from double crepe wool. To complete her look, she wore her bespoke teal suede Magrit pumps, Felipe Varela clutch.  As the hairstyle, she wore a very refined nappy bun which showcased her Coolook earrings made with labradorites and amethysts.

Thus dressed, Queen Letizia attended, alongside her husband King Felipe VI who was in his military uniform, at the different stages of this unavoidable event of the beginning of the year in Madrid. Celebrated on the day of the Epiphany, the Pascua militar is deeply rooted in Spanish military life. Its origin goes back to the reign of King Carlos III when the latter, on January 6th 1782, took the city of Mahon in the island of Minorca in the Balearic Islands to the British troops who occupied it then.

The royal couple was welcomed at the Plaza de la Armería (the square of the Arsenal) by the President of the Government Mariano Rajoy, their new Defense and Interior Ministers, the Chief of the Defense Staff and the head of the King's Military House. A solemn ceremony followed, with a review of the troops, a national anthem and a salvo of twenty-one gunshots. Then Letizia and Felipe won the Salon de Gasparini in the Royal Palace to receive greetings from the military authorities, various representatives of the Spanish armed forces, veterans and the Civil Guard. Also in the Royal Palace, this time in the Throne Room, the King of Spain handed military decorations to civilians and members of the armed forces. Then, like the Minister of Defense, the sovereign gave a speech. Finally, the King and Queen of Spain gathered in the Hall of Columns with the authorities present and the members of the military commissions.

The Spanish Royal Courts: Memorial Service in memory of Ecuador

Last Tuesday, May 17th Madrid paid tribute to the victims of the terrible earthquake which occured last April in Ecuador. A Mass was celebrated at the Cathedral of Santa Maria la Real de la Almudena in memory of the hundreds of deaths and thousands of injured and homeless. Their Majesties Queen Letizia and King Felipe VI attended the religious ceremony that brought together representatives of institutions and the Spanish civil society and the diplomatic corps and the Ecuadorian community in Spain.

To this sad appointment, Letizia had chosen to wear tight black Felipe Varela skirt suit, Magrit 'Mila' pumps and Felipe Varela chevron stitch clutch. The mother of two, who had left her slicked hair down, was decorated with small earrings silver star shaped.

On April 16th, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake caused the death of nearly 700 people and left more than 12,000 wounded in north-western Ecuador. The tremor, which was felt as far as Peru and Colombia, has particularly affected the most tourist region of the Pacific coast of the Latin American countries, between the provinces of Esmeraldas and Manabi.

This Wednesday, May 18th a new earthquake, of magnitude 6.8, rocked Ecuador. This would be a replica of the earthquake a month earlier. AFP said its epicenter was 14.7 km depth near the coast of the country in the province of Manabi. At this time, no victim is to be deplored.

Ambassadrice spécial de l'Organisation pour l'alimentation et l'agriculture (FAO), Doña Letizia a commencé sa mai engagements avec la nutrition. Selon le Conseil supérieur de la recherche scientifique (CSIC) et l'Université autonome de Madrid (UAM), l'institut est responsable de le développement de la recherche scientifique de qualité dans le domaine de la science et de la technologie alimentaire.

Le Dona qui était accompagné par le secrétaire d'État à la recherche, le développement et l'innovation Carmen Vela, d'abord assisté à une réunion où divers sujets ont été présentés: le rôle de la microbiologie humaine à la réponse de puissance, les allergies alimentaires, "les algues: beaucoup plus qu'un aliment de l'avenir ", etc. Letizia a ensuite visité les laboratoires où en particulier la plate-forme de simulation gastro-intestinale et, dans l'usine pilote de l'Institut, la zone alimentaire innovation Novalindus.

Reine Letizia d'Espagne a été officiellement nommé ambassadeur spécial de l'Organisation pour l'alimentation et l'agriculture (FAO) lors d'une cérémonie tenue à Rome le 11 Juin 2015. Pendant ce temps, elle a dit qu'elle se livrerait à des activités de sensibilisation pour relever le défi mondial de la faim et de générer du public le soutien pour son éradication. FAO, organisation intergouvernementale, a pour but de veiller à ce que les êtres humains ont un accès régulier à une nourriture de bonne qualité pour leur permettre de mener une vie saine et active.
