Launch of AntiBulli

Finish the tiaras and evening dress. It is in a casual look that the Crown Princess who arrived in a black Hugo Boss coat featuring leather pockets, her Cartier bracelet and a pair of Hartmanns diamond earrings, made her first solo engagement of the year, this Saturday, January 7th in the small town of Silkeborg, west of Aarhus.

Mary of Denmark wore a black tshirt, with the inscription in white letters "Antibulli". The name of the new project of her foundation, the Mary Fonden, which came for its launching. Addressing young Danish handball players between the ages of 6 and 12, Antibulli aims to promote greater tolerance and respect between these youngsters in the practice of their sport.

 And to better convey her message, the Australian born Crown Princess had invited a special guest. In addition to the children and coaches of the teams participating in this pilot project, Mary was with Mikkel Hansen. A danish handballers who plays in the Denmark handball national team -which won the gold this summer 2016 at the Olympic Games of Rio- and evolves since 2012 in the French club of Paris Saint-Germain Handball. The Palace pointed out that Antibulli had been developed in cooperation between Mary Fonden and MH24, the association of Mikkel Hansen against bullying.

Talking about sport, that same day in the evening sports was in for Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark who went to Herning, about forty kilometers from his wife's appointment. The awards were presented by Danmarks Radio, the Danish public radio and television station. The opportunity for the eldest son and heir to hand one of them to Pernille Blume for his Olympic performance. The 22-year-old swimmer reported, from the recent Rio Games, a gold medal and a team bronze.

Queen Margrethe arrive in style for the last and final New Years reception

On Wednesday, Queen Margrethe II joined the Crown Prince couple at Christiansborg Castle on board her coach.

The coach of King Christian VIII of Denmark (1786-1848) a hand made beauty by the coachbuilder Henry Fife in 1840, this gold car plated with 24-carat gold leaves, pulled by six white horses, adorned with the Queen's coat of arms on its doors and four crowns at each corner of its roof was released again this Wednesday, January 4th 2017 in Copenhagen. As it did every year since her 1972 coronation, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark took her place there to visit the palace of Amalienborg as part of the New Year's ceremonies at Christiansborg Castle.

She was escorted by the regiment of the Hussars of the Danish Royal Guard. The inside of the coach, padded, is arranged for two people. But just as last year, it was only the sovereign who sat in the carriage through Copenhagen's street, her husband Prince Henrik having asserted his rights to the royal retirement on January 1st 2016 .

At her arrival at Christiansborg Castle, Margrethe met with her eldest son Crown Prince Frederik and his wife. The trio received representatives of the armed forces, the Danish Emergency Management Agency, major national organizations and royal patrons on the last day of New Year ceremonies. Crown Princess Mary had opted for the occasion for a long fuchsia dress and a cape in exactly the same tone. The one she wore already for the dinner of the 1st of January in the evening, on her gilded robe.

The monarch wore, as on previous eve and in previous years, his "dress of vows": a long blue brocade dress at night with officer collar and brown fur cuffs under a fur coat.



Day 2 of the New Year receptions, the Crown Prince Couple met HM Queen Margrethe at Christianborg

On Tuesday, the Crown Prince Couple, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary stood beside Queen Margrethe II for the traditional  annual diplomatic reception.

As a tradition every first days of a new year, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II host various receptions on the occasion. This Tuesday, January 3rd, the sovereign held the diplomatic reception at Christiansborg in Copenhagen. And as is the custom, she was accompanied by her eldest son and heir Crown Prince Frederik and his wife, Crown Princess Mary.

For this reception, the Danish monarch appeared, unsurprisingly, dressed in the habit she usually wore for this ceremony: a long blue night dress in brocade with matching jacket decorated with an officer collar and brown fur cuffs. She wore it on her arrival under a long fur coat.

Whilst the Crown Princess was seen in a silver gray dress from the Danish Heartmade label, combining a plain bodice with a skirt entirely covered with a lace with a geometric shape. She coordinated it with  GIANVITO ROSSI pumps and Hugo Boss clutch and a pair of white gloves. Princess Mary chose to show off her little earrings by wearing a half-tail. As for her husband, Prince Frederik, he was in uniform, all medals pending.


The Danish Royal Courts: A specatular photo exihibition of the Crown Princely Couple *May 12th

Crown Prince Frederik might not have accompanied his wife during the day. However, it was at his side, in the day by the image. The future Danish King had visited the premises of the Gammel Strand -a modern art institution which is a patron- Copenhagen, to discover the Mario Testino exhibition opened from May 13th to September 18th 2016, the first dedicated to the famous fashion photographer in Denmark. Among the pictures hanging on the chair rails, was a double portrait of Frederik and Mary.

The Danish Royal Courts: Crown Prince at the Artic Winter Games

HRH Crown Prince Frederik participated on Sunday, March 6, 2016 in the opening gala of the Arctic Winter Games, a multisport and cultural event for young people living around the Arctic circles. Arctic Winter Games are held every two years alternating amongst host, and this year's Greenland host.

Due to a blizzard which head the town of Nuuk delayed Crown Prince Frederik for an additional involuntary accommodation in Kangerlussuaq in Greenland. Arctic Winter Games opening ceremony were postponed.

The Danish Royal Courts: Crown Prince Couple second and last day in Qatar

The Crown Princely Couple visited Aspire Academy founded in 2004 which is one of the World's leading sports academies for children and teenagers today. Afterwards, they visited Doha Museum of Islamic Arts which opened in 2008 on their first day in Qatar. But on their second day, the couple had seperate engagements with, Crown Princess Mary visiting the Qatar Academy in Doha on March 3, 2016. She met with two different classes and had a good talk with Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Al Missned.


She later met with her husband Crown Prince Frederik to visit Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamin Bin Hamad Al-Thani who seemed very happy to get a visit from the Crown Prince Couple. He was smiling and friendly and asked Crown Prince Frederik how his stay in Doha had been. Crown Prince Frederik said among other things that he and Mary had been busy

The Danish Royal Courts: Crown Prince Couple in Qatar

Danish Crown Prince Couple's three days visit to Qatar started. They finished their Saudi Arabia visit and in the evening, they arrived at Qatar together with the Trade mission.

The Crown Princely Couple visited Aspire Academy founded in 2004 which is one of the World's leading sports academies for children and teenagers today. Afterwards, they visited Doha Museum of Islamic Arts which opened in 2008 in a new watercolour maxi skirt, Gianvito Rossi Patent Leather Mid Heel, Carlend Copenhagen Vanessa clutch . The Crown Prince Couple attended a business dinner which was attended by private companies, public bodies and local officials. Qatar visit is made for the purpose of ensuring a strong cooperation between Danish and Qatari private companies. For this  occasion Crown Princess Mary wore Trousers by Heartmade, 2nd Day Long sleeveless Waistcoat, QUIDAM Alligator Clutch. Crown Prince Frederik, dressed in a suit and tie, showed off some tricky football skills of his own before the royal couple posed with staff members and players on the pitch at the Aspire Academy.


The Danish Royal Courts: A continuation of their Third Day in Saudi Arabia

Denmark's Crown Prince Couple HH.RR.HH Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary are on a 5 day business trip to Saudi Arabia and Qatar which began on Sunday by being welcome to Saudi Arabia by King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Nayef  at the Royal Palace of Riyadh, and on their 2nd day they attended the official opening of "Denmark-Saudi Arabia Business Forum" in the capital city, Riyadh. After attending the Business Forum, in the Evening the Crown Prince Couple were welcome to a dinner hosted at the Danish Embassy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by Ambassador Ole Frijs-Madsen..
On their third day they visited King Abdullah Financial District, a new financial district in Riyadh and a work of Danish architects Henning Larsen Architects. After their visit they each had both separate engagements with Crown Princess meeting together with Danish Health Minister visited the King Khalid Foundation, which is a Saudi charitable organization chaired by Princess Banderi bint Abdulrahman AlFaisal. The organization’s mission focuses particularly on violence against women and children as well as combatting poverty(See yesterday post). Before meeting together to visit and took part in a business luncheon at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce & Industry, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center and being hosted once again for a Farewell reception at the Danish ambassador’s residence.
