Countess Sophie of Wessex turned 52 years old last Friday. Traveling to Devon that day, the daughter-in-law of Queen Elizabeth II was celebrated as it should.
On Friday, January 20th, 2017, H.R.H The Countess of Wessex was headed to Clyst St Mary, a small village in East Devon between Exeter and Exmouth. The wife of Prince Edward was expected to attend a meeting of the Devon County Agricultural Association of which she was elected president for the year 2017. Founded in 1872 to protect the interests Agriculture and rural economy in this county, this organization is also involved in orchestrating the Devon County Show every year. This will be held this year from May 18th to 20th.
Arriving by helicopter, Sophie was seen outside wearing a black dress with white polka dots under a black Azzedine Alaia cardigan and wearing high suede boots of the same color, was welcomed with balloons and a birthday cake. The daughter-in-law of Queen Elizabeth II was celebrating her 52th birthday. And her hosts obviously did not want to pass over this anniversary.
Very pleased with this delicate attention, Sophie cut her cake with a big smile, her president's medal around her neck, as proved by a photo that Buckingham Palace shared on the official Twitter accounts and Instagram of the royal family.
The Countess of Wessex was also very enthusiastic about the mission entrusted to her, declaring according to statements reported by the Plymouth Herald: "I am honored and delighted to be this year's President of the Devon County Agricultural Association. "Supporting our farmers and industry is a priority for me in my work and I am very excited about my role with this unique region of our country and its special agricultural show."
