Quite a birthday party surprise for the Countess of Wessex

Countess Sophie of Wessex turned 52 years old last Friday. Traveling to Devon that day, the daughter-in-law of Queen Elizabeth II was celebrated as it should.

On Friday, January 20th, 2017, H.R.H The Countess of Wessex was headed to Clyst St Mary, a small village in East Devon between Exeter and Exmouth. The wife of Prince Edward was expected to attend a meeting of the Devon County Agricultural Association of which she was elected president for the year 2017. Founded in 1872 to protect the interests Agriculture and rural economy in this county, this organization is also involved in orchestrating the Devon County Show every year. This will be held this year from May 18th to 20th.

Arriving by helicopter, Sophie was seen outside wearing a black dress with white polka dots under a black Azzedine Alaia cardigan and wearing high suede boots of the same color, was welcomed with balloons and a birthday cake. The daughter-in-law of Queen Elizabeth II was celebrating her 52th birthday. And her hosts obviously did not want to pass over this anniversary.


Very pleased with this delicate attention, Sophie cut her cake with a big smile, her president's medal around her neck, as proved by a photo that Buckingham Palace shared on the official Twitter accounts and Instagram of the royal family.

The Countess of Wessex was also very enthusiastic about the mission entrusted to her, declaring according to statements reported by the Plymouth Herald: "I am honored and delighted to be this year's President of the Devon County Agricultural Association. "Supporting our farmers and industry is a priority for me in my work and I am very excited about my role with this unique region of our country and its special agricultural show."

The British Royal Courts: The Wessex inaugurate a new exhibition

Last Thursday April 12th, Prince Edward inaugurated the new exhibition Mahali Pori to Bristol Zoo, as patron of the Zoological Society of Bristol. His wife Sophie had been invited to accompany him. The couple arrived as scheduled. But the Earl and Countess of Wessex had not come alone. They brought their two children, Lady Louise, 12, and Viscount James, age 8 who were on a small break from school.

"The climax came in the Madagascar section of the exhibition where Louise and James crouched to feed some hungry lemurs and meerkats. Since the animals were rushing around, giggling young royals and gave them more food, "says the British tabloid" Hello! ". A series of photos also shows mischievous little James tried to put a cricket in the back of his father, the laughter of his mother.

The British Royal Courts: Countess of Wessex attends the 15th anniversary of Christopher's Children's Hospice

H.R.H Sophie, Countess of Wessex visited Christopher Children's Hospice to mark their 15th anniversry of the Shooting Star Chase charity on February 9, 2016 in Guildford, England. (Christopher's Children's Hospice is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. Shooting Star Chase hospice care for children is a UK-based charity. It is intended to support and provide palliative care to families with children who are not expected to reach the age of 19 because of illness or incurable disease).
H.R.H is launched the Shooting Star Chase Charity in 2002 and became their Royal Patron. She wore GUCCI Wool Dress, PRADA Cocoon Coat

The British Royal Courts: New Years service with her Majesty

This January 3, The Wessex accompanied Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip for Sunday Mass at Sandringham.

After the cherry red of the Christmas office and white and heather gray from that celebrated two days later, Queen Elizabeth II chose a Purple coat to attend to the first Sunday Mass of the year at the little church of Sandringham. As usual in the rain, it had not only perfectly coordinated his coat in his hat, but also his umbrella. Transparent, it was decorated in the lower part of a strip of the same purple as her outfit, color that is found on the handle.

Currently staying in their country estate in Norfolk, the sovereign and  her husband Prince Philip you could see that day alongside Elizabeth II's youngest son Prince Edward and the wife Countess Sophie of Wessex and daughter, Lady Louis aged 12, both in navy blue coat.

HRH Sophie, Countess of Wessex was in Toronto from Nov 11th till November 14th.This is HRH's 13th visit to Canadian soil.  On her arrival at Billy Bishop Airport in Toronto, HRH was welcome by Ontario's Lieutenant Governor Hon Elizabeth Dowdeswell.
She started her working visiting  together with The Lieutenant Governor by visiting the Native Child and Family Services of Toronto, a leader in the field of Native human services in Canada. On day 2 She attended a number of activities
  • Meeting at the Shangri-La Hotel, Toronto, Ontario, Canada as Patron of Toronto General Hospital
  • visited Toronto Western Hospital. Together with the Lieutenant Governor met with doctors and researchers
  • took part in an official announcement of the renaming of the Research Institute.
  • Unveiled a plaque recognizing organ donors
  • Visited the 93rd Royal Agricultural Winter Fair 
  • made a presentation to WindReach Farm on behalf of The Royal





The British Royal Courts: Sophie, Countess of Wessex has a day full of activities while in the US

The Countess of Wessex was in the US for the last two days and had a couple of activities in her agenda.
Upon arrival in the US on November 10th at JFK International Airport, HRH attended in her capacity as Global Ambassador of the 100 Women in Hedge Funds Next Generations Initiatives, the 500th Education Semniare at their Citi Offices in New York. For the Occasion HRH wore Black crop cardigan by DVF Fitted Dress by Victoria Beckham LK Bennett Harley black suede pumps, and Sophie Habsburg Beanie Bag

In the Early Morning of November 11th HRH took part in the breakfast meeting and discussion



After the discussion, she attended the Armistice/Veterans Days service at Queen Elizabeth II September 11th Garden 11 Hanover Square in New York and then took a moment and visited the Memorial Reflection Pool, in memory of those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks. She then visited the National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center to pay her respects to the nearly 3,000 people who died in the attacks of 26th February 1993 and 11th September 2001.
